Wande Coal fires back at Davido over unreleased collaboration

Nigerian singer Wande Coal has responded to Davido’s comments about their unreleased collaboration on the remix of his song Come My Way.

Davido recently explained that the collaboration was never released because of a disagreement over how his contribution would be used. According to him, he recorded a verse for the song but objected to plans to release the original version first and use his contribution for a subsequent remix.

“I recorded the song, then he wanted to drop the song first and use my own verse for the remix, but I was like, no, because I didn’t record the song for a remix. That was how the song didn’t come out. That verse is stupid hard. It’s so sick. So good,” Davido said during a podcast interview.

Wande Coal subsequently addressed the remarks in a post on X, arguing that Come My Way already had a release plan and performed well without Davido’s contribution.

“Carry song come give you as how? Song wey been get release plan and date!!! Song wey no be your own you wan dictate release plan. That song fkin did well without you on it bruv!!!,” he wrote.

The exchange has brought renewed attention to the unreleased collaboration and the circumstances surrounding its planned release.
