Man Arrested After Allegedly Attempting to Dispose of Woman’s Body in Ajah Canal

The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into the alleged killing of a woman in the Ajah area of the state.
According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Adebisi Abimbola, police received a report on July 14 that a man had allegedly killed a yet-to-be-identified woman and was attempting to dispose of her body in a canal along Monastery Road, Mopo, Ajah.
Abimbola said the suspect was apprehended by security guards in the area before police arrived.
She added that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) led a team of operatives to the scene, where the suspect was taken into police custody.
The body of the deceased was recovered from the canal and taken to the General Hospital Mortuary in Yaba for preservation and autopsy.
According to the police, the suspect remains in custody, while the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba, for further investigation.
