Barry Jhay says fame is overrated, wishes for wealth over celebrity status

Nigerian singer Oluwakayode Junior Balogun, popularly known as Barry Jhay, has spoken about the challenges that come with fame and celebrity status.
The singer, while reflecting on his music career, said he was born into a privileged family but had to fend for himself after the death of his father changed his circumstances.
Barry Jhay said the experience has shaped his view of fame, adding that he would rather pursue financial stability than celebrity status in another life.
“Fame is dangerous. In my next life, I don’t want to have a talent or be famous, I just want to be rich. I was born a Nepo baby, but after losing my dad and everything, I am hustling like a Lapo baby,” he said.
His comments highlight his personal perspective on the pressures and responsibilities associated with life in the public eye.
