Alleged WhatsApp Chats Surface in Favour Agbro Case as Activist Details Claims Against Odogwu Asaba

Fresh alleged WhatsApp conversations between the late Favour Agbro and content creator Odogwu Asaba have surfaced online amid the ongoing police investigation into Agbro’s death.

The chats were released by activist Israel Joe, who said they formed part of the evidence submitted to the Nigeria Police following the suspect’s arrest. According to Joe, the screenshots were exchanged after the alleged assault and show Odogwu Asaba allegedly dismissing Agbro’s complaints as “blackmail” and refusing to provide financial assistance.

The release follows a video recorded by Agbro before her death, in which she alleged that Odogwu Asaba invited her to Asaba under the pretext of helping her learn content creation and social media monetisation. She further alleged that she was sexually assaulted at a hotel after arriving. The claims have not been determined by a court.

Commenting on the newly released chats, Joe said he had withheld the full conversation because it forms part of the evidence for the ongoing investigation. He also claimed that Agbro had sought financial help for medical treatment following the alleged incident and had initially wanted to avoid damaging the content creator’s reputation.

The Nigeria Police have not publicly commented on the authenticity of the leaked chats. The investigation into the allegations and the circumstances surrounding Agbro’s death remains ongoing.
