Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe aka Wande Coal
Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe, professionally known as Wande Coal, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and performer born on October 18, 1985, in Lagos Island, Lagos State, Nigeria. He is a graduate of Curriculum Studies from the University of Lagos.
Wande Coal began his career in the church choir and gained public attention when he signed with Mo’ Hits Records in 2006. He featured on D’banj’s album Rundown/Funk You Up and gained major recognition with his standout performances on the iconic Mo’ Hits compilation album Curriculum Vitae.
His debut album, Mushin 2 Mo’Hits (2009), is widely considered one of Nigeria’s greatest contemporary Afro-pop projects. Wande Coal later moved on to establish his own label, Black Diamond Entertainment, in 2013.
Known for his smooth vocals and innovative fusion of R&B, Afrobeat, and pop, Wande Coal has released hit songs such as Ololufe, You Bad, Iskaba, and Come My Way. He has collaborated with top artists like Don Jazzy, Burna Boy, Olamide, Wizkid, and Phyno.
His talent, vocal range, and influence have earned him a legendary status in the Nigerian music industry.
