Nollywood Actress Cynthia Anijekwu Appeals for Support Amid Cancer Battle

Nollywood actress Cynthia Anijekwu has appealed for public support after revealing that she is battling cancer for the second time.
In a video circulating on social media, the actress said she was first diagnosed with cancer in 2023 and underwent surgery and chemotherapy. According to her, recent medical examinations showed that the disease has returned and spread to her bones.
Anijekwu said doctors have recommended radiation therapy and another surgery, adding that her treatment now costs about ₦600,000 per month, making it difficult for her family to cover the expenses.
“I need to live. I need to survive. I’m asking Nigerians to please help me. Anyone that can help, please, I need help,” she said.
The actress also disclosed that the cancer has affected both of her breasts and caused swelling in her hands.
“Your one naira, your two naira can add up to something reasonable for me to get the proper treatment for this cancer. I’m begging you, please help me,” she added.
Before her health challenges became public, Cynthia Anijekwu featured in several Nollywood productions, including English and Igbo-language films.
Her appeal has drawn reactions on social media, with many expressing support as she continues her treatment.
