Jarvis Responds to Ycee’s Remarks on ‘Peller Culture’

Social media influencer and content creator Jarvis has responded to comments made by rapper Ycee linking her partner, Peller, to what he described as Nigeria’s “Olodo uprising.”
In a video shared online, Jarvis defended content creators and questioned criticism directed at individuals using social media platforms to earn a living.
“Me that went to school and graduated, as government no give us work, what do you expect me to do?” she said.
Jarvis argued that many graduates face unemployment and are often forced to pursue alternative means of income despite their educational qualifications.
She also criticized Ycee for mentioning Peller by name while discussing what he termed “Peller culture.”
According to her, content creators provide entertainment while earning a legitimate income. “We are just trying to earn a living. A lot of people have turned to kidnapping and robbery. We are making people happy and earning from it,” she said.
Jarvis further urged people not to look down on online entertainers, noting that social media content creation has become a source of livelihood for many young Nigerians.
Her comments come amid ongoing reactions to Ycee’s podcast remarks about education, social values, and the influence of internet personalities.
