Yomi Casual Pays Tribute to Late Actor Alexx Ekubo

Fashion designer Yomi Casual has paid tribute to his longtime friend, Alexx Ekubo, following the actor’s death in May.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Yomi Casual reflected on their more than 15-year friendship, describing Ekubo as a loyal friend, trusted adviser, and a brother figure who played a significant role in his life and family.

According to the designer, the pair shared a close bond marked by years of friendship, business collaborations, and mutual support. He noted that despite occasional disagreements, they always reconciled and maintained their relationship.

Yomi Casual also expressed regret over not spending time with Ekubo during his final days.

“It hurts deeply knowing I didn’t spend your last days on earth with you,” he wrote, adding that he would have made every effort to be by his friend’s side had he known their time together was limited.

He further stated that he understood Ekubo’s decision to keep his illness private, saying the actor handled his challenges with dignity.

The designer concluded his tribute by thanking Ekubo for his friendship, guidance, and support over the years, describing him as a brother whose memory would remain with him.

“Rest peacefully, my dear ore and brother. Until we meet again, you will never be forgotten,” he wrote.
