La Liga Table After Real Madrid’s 1-0 Loss and Atletico Madrid’s 2-0
Real Madrid suffered a surprising 1-0 defeat to relegation-threatened Espanyol in their La Liga match. Despite dominating possession in the first half, Los Blancos struggled to create clear-cut chances. Espanyol, on the other hand, held firm defensively. The game seemed destined for a draw until Carlos Romero scored the winner for Espanyol in the 85th minute on the counter-attack. Real Madrid couldn’t find an equalizer, and the match ended 1-0 in Espanyol’s favor.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid bounced back to winning form with a dominant 2-0 victory over Mallorca at the Wanda Metropolitano. Goals from Antoine Griezmann and Samuel Lino sealed the win for Diego Simeone’s side.
