Asari Dokubo had previously claimed he drained his finances to support President Tinubu’s campaign, only to feel disregarded after the election. His remarks sparked a variety of public reactions, with some questioning his expectations.
In his statement, released by Vanguard on Sunday, October 27, 2024, Akpodoro criticized Dokubo’s stance, arguing it was unreasonable to expect the president to prioritize personal loyalty over the broader development needs of the nation.
“President Tinubu’s government was made possible by the collective efforts of Nigerians, including Niger Deltans who voted overwhelmingly at the polls,” Akpodoro said. “It is misguided to expect the president to favor individual supporters at the expense of national growth.”
Akpodoro’s remarks generated mixed reactions, with some speculating his bold response could create tension with Asari Dokubo.
