Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress was declared the winner of the recently-conducted presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The previous Governor of Lagos State defeated different sturdy contenders within the race together with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
Tinubu polled 8,794,726 votes underneath the All Progressives Congress to defeat his closest rival, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, who had 6,984,520 votes. Peter Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate of the Labour Party had 6,101,533 votes.
Reacting to Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory, The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar congratulated the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu on his resounding victory.
The council pressured that the previous Governor of Lagos State should uphold justice including that justice is taken into account because the hallmark of management.
It added; “We urge you, upon assumption of office, to place in place policies and measures that might result in the large-scale transformation of our nation’s economic system, safety, social infrastructure, and human capital improvement.”
