Woman Shares Alleged Domestic Violence Experience, Says She Left Abusive Marriage

A woman identified as Tanecqua Garrett has publicly shared details of the domestic violence she alleges she endured during her marriage, saying she has now left the relationship.

In a statement posted on June 10, Garrett said she had remained out of the public eye for the past year while recovering from years of alleged abuse.

According to her account, one of the incidents occurred after she returned home from the hospital following a Caesarean section delivery. Garrett alleged that her husband attacked and bit her face during the assault.

“Let me re-introduce myself. I am Tanecqua Garrett. For the past year I been hiding and staying out of public eye the best I could,” she wrote.

Garrett described herself as “a battered woman” and said she had suffered domestic violence for years before finding the courage to leave the relationship.

“I finally got the courage to become brave and choose myself,” she stated. “I was attacked and bitten all over my face after I came home from my c-section from my husband, an abusive alcoholic. I hate it took so long for me to leave but I’m finally gone and done.”
