Portable Criticizes Olamide for Signing Asake, Claims He Was Overlooked

Portable has publicly called out Olamide, criticizing him for allegedly refusing to sign him to YBNL while instead choosing to sign Asake, who has now reportedly left the label. In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Portable expressed his frustration, referencing his collaboration with Olamide on the hit track Zazzu and accusing Olamide of sidelining him in favor of Asake.

Portable said, “Olamide, you used Asake to tackle me in the industry. You wanted to cancel me, so I ran to Sango. From Sango, I toured the world. Now look at the person you lifted above me—he has dumped you without even saying thank you. You took away my producer, my promoter, Kogbagidi, and my dancer.”

He continued, “Now see life—Asake doesn’t appreciate you anymore, yet I still do. I thank you for the verse you gave me on ‘Zazzu’. I started the trend of wearing big shoes and oversized clothes, but you told Asake to copy it.” Portable also accused Olamide of copying him, adding, “You are a copycat. Davido, I was the influencer for crypto and bitcoin, but you hijacked it from me and still claim to be a rich man.”

The remarks have sparked discussions online, with many commenting on the ongoing tensions in the Nigerian music industry. Some fans criticized Portable for his behavior, while others weighed in on the complex relationships between the artists.

Reactions include:
