K-Peace Calls Out Nigerian Idol Organizers Over Unpaid Prize Money
K-Peace, winner of the 2015 season of Nigerian Idol, has accused the show’s organizers of failing to fulfill the promised rewards following his victory. In a candid interview on the Honest Bunch Podcast, the singer revealed that despite being publicly awarded a N7.5 million cash prize, a brand-new car, and a trip to Dubai, he has yet to receive any of these prizes.
“I came outside of the Nigerian Idol platform with zero naira in my account,” K-Peace said, describing the difficult aftermath of his win. He recalled struggling financially, even going for interviews without food, despite the multimillion-naira prize that was supposed to accompany his victory.
K-Peace explained that when he inquired about the car, he was told it was still being branded. His frustrations have sparked conversations about the treatment of winners on reality shows like Nigerian Idol, which has produced many prominent music stars.
