Burna Boy faces police probe
The Nigerian Police will invite and interrogate Grammy-Award-winning artiste, Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy, over the recent shootings at club Cubana last week Wednesday.
The invite became necessary after five policemen attached to the singer shot at fun-seekers at the club.
The names of those allegedly shot in the incident are: Irebami Lawrence and another fun seeker identified simply as Tolu.
According to reports, the singer had made a derogatory comment at Lawrence’s wife, which led to the shootings.
Confirming that due investigations are underway, Oluwamuyiwa Adejobi, the Force PPRO said that the force will interrogate Burna in order to have a detailed investigation.
Answering a question on Twitter, Adejobi said, “Exactly what we will do. But there is no how d police want to have a detailed investigation without interrogating Burna Boy. No way.
“So the level of involvement of everyone in the incident will determine his punishment or otherwise. We should not pre-empt what the report will reveal” he said.
In another tweet, the PPRO said the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba has ordered an investigation into the ugly incident at the club.
