Tyla
Tyla Laura Seethal, known professionally as Tyla, is a South African singer, songwriter, and performer. She was born on January 30, 2002, in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.
Tyla rose to prominence through social media and independent music releases before achieving mainstream success with her unique fusion of Amapiano, Afropop, R&B, and pop music. She first gained widespread attention with singles such as Getting Late, which showcased her distinctive vocal style and introduced her to a growing international audience.
Her global breakthrough came in 2023 with the release of Water, a viral hit that became a worldwide sensation across streaming platforms and social media. The song achieved commercial success in multiple countries, making Tyla one of the first South African solo artists in decades to achieve significant chart success in the United States and other international markets.
