Terry Daniel Aweke, professionally known as Terri (also known as Starboy Terri), is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He was born on May 27, 1999, in Ifako-Ijaiye, Lagos State, Nigeria, and hails from Edo State.
Terri developed an interest in music at an early age and initially recorded songs under the stage name Stoned Teezy. Before his breakthrough, he independently released tracks such as Where the Party At featuring Fresh and Remy Martins while building a local fan base. He later gained admission to the University of Lagos to study Marine Insurance but left to focus on his music career.
His career took a major turn in 2018 after his cover of Oshe by Wizkid and DJ Jimmy Jatt caught Wizkid’s attention. He was subsequently signed to Starboy Entertainment and made his mainstream debut on the label’s hit single Soco, alongside Wizkid, Ceeza Milli, and Spotless. The song became one of the biggest Afrobeats records of 2018 and introduced Terri to a wider audience.
Following the success of Soco, Terri released singles including Bia, Shuu, and Same You, showcasing his blend of Afropop, Afro-fusion, and melodic songwriting.
Known for his smooth vocals and laid-back delivery, Terri remains one of the notable artists to emerge from Starboy Entertainment and continues to contribute to the contemporary Afrobeats scene.
