Spyro
Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, professionally known as Spyro, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He was born on October 1, 1990, in Lagos State, Nigeria, where he was also raised.
Spyro developed an interest in music from an early age, beginning as a choir singer before pursuing music professionally. He attended New Mainland Children’s School for his primary education and Model College, Meiran, for his secondary education before graduating from the University of Ibadan. He launched his recording career as an independent artist and later joined TAP Music Entertainment.
Spyro gained national recognition in 2022 with the release of Billing, followed by his breakthrough hit Who Is Your Guy?, which became one of the biggest Afrobeats songs of 2023. The remix featuring Tiwa Savage achieved widespread success across Africa, topping music charts and earning millions of streams on digital platforms. The song further established Spyro as one of Nigeria’s fastest-rising Afropop artists.
Known for his blend of Afropop, R&B, and inspirational songwriting, Spyro has collaborated with artists including Davido, Tiwa Savage, Mayorkun, Diamond Platnumz, Teni, Iyanya, Phyno, and Sound Sultan. In 2023, he released his debut EP Next Rated, followed by his debut studio album The Men, The Boys & Your Guy in 2025.
