Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon, professionally known as Reekado Banks, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and performer. He was born on December 6, 1993, in Lagos State, Nigeria. He studied History and Strategic Studies at the University of Lagos before pursuing music professionally.
Reekado Banks rose to prominence after signing with Mavin Records in 2014 as part of the label’s “Mavin 2.0” generation. He made his debut under the imprint with Turn It Up featuring Tiwa Savage before gaining widespread recognition with hit singles including Katapot, Sugar Baby, Corner, Easy (Jeje), Like, and Oluwa Ni.
In 2016, he released his debut studio album Spotlight, which peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard World Albums chart. After leaving Mavin Records in 2018, he founded his independent record label, Banks Music, under which he has continued to release successful projects, including the acclaimed single Ozumba Mbadiwe.
Recognized for his smooth vocals and versatility, Reekado Banks blends Afropop, R&B, dancehall, and contemporary African sounds, making him one of Nigeria’s most accomplished contemporary artists.
