Abass Akande Obesere, popularly known as Obesere, is a Nigerian Fuji musician, songwriter, and performer. He was born on January 28, 1965, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
Obesere rose to prominence in the 1990s as one of the leading voices in Fuji music, gaining popularity for his energetic performances, street-oriented lyrics, and distinct vocal style. Often referred to as βOmo Rapalaβ, he became known for infusing Fuji music with youthful energy and contemporary influences, helping the genre connect with a broader audience.
Over the years, Obesere released several successful albums that cemented his place among Nigeriaβs most recognized Fuji artists.
