Ladipo Eso, professionally known as Ladipoe, is a Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter born on April 29, 1992, in Lagos, Nigeria. He studied Biology and Chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, USA, before returning to Nigeria to pursue a career in music.
Ladipoe rose to prominence after signing with Mavin Records in 2017, becoming the first rapper signed to the label under Don Jazzy’s leadership. He made a strong debut with the single Man Already, showcasing his lyrical depth and genre-fluid style.
He gained widespread acclaim with his 2019 hit Jaiye (Time of Our Lives) and cemented his mainstream success with Know You featuring Simi and the chart-topping single Feeling featuring BNXN (Buju), which became a national anthem and dominated African music charts.
Ladipoe is known for his poetic lyrics, smooth flow, and introspective storytelling. He describes his sound as “lifelines with a beat” and represents a new wave of conscious and commercially viable Nigerian hip-hop.
Through collaborations with artists like Tems, Joeboy, Amaarae, and Rema, Ladipoe continues to push lyrical rap to new heights in the Afrobeats era.
