Wike Reveals Son with Master’s in Economics Chooses Career in Real Estate

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has disclosed that his second son, a Master’s degree holder in Economics from King’s College, has opted to pursue a career in real estate.
Wike made this known during an interview on Channels Television, where he discussed his children’s career choices and the importance of allowing young people to follow their passions.
“My second son finished from King’s College, Master’s Degree in Economics. He told me he wants to be on real estate. I said okay, you have to move to somewhere to learn,” Wike said.
The former Rivers State governor emphasized that parents should support their children’s aspirations rather than dictate their career paths, noting that fulfillment often comes from pursuing one’s own interests.
He added that his son’s decision reflects the growing appeal of real estate among young Nigerians amid rising urbanization and housing demand.
Wike further stated that his two sons’ chosen fields—real estate and agriculture—are key drivers of economic growth and job creation, urging Nigerian youths to focus on industries that generate value rather than rely solely on white-collar employment.
