Bukola Saraki Shares Key Details of PDP Governors’ Meeting in Bauchi

Former Senate President and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Bukola Abubakar Saraki, has revealed the major discussions held during a recent gathering of PDP governors in Bauchi State.

Taking to his verified Facebook page on Monday, Saraki wrote, “I just left a meeting of the PDP Governors Forum, attended by its serving and former governors, at the Bauchi Governor’s Lodge. We had a productive discussion about the party’s future and current issues.”

He disclosed that the meeting, which saw a strong turnout of party leaders, focused on strategies to strengthen the PDP and prepare for upcoming party activities. One of the key outcomes was the formation of a seven-member committee to steer preparations for the party’s national convention and ensure a peaceful National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for May 27.

“A large number of people attended the meeting. In order to determine a course of action, the meeting established a seven-member committee tasked with getting ready for the upcoming national convention and a rancour-free NEC meeting on May 27,” he stated.

Saraki also revealed that he was chosen to lead the newly formed committee. “I am the humble leader of the committee, and I will enjoy working with my brothers, HE Dauda Lawal, HE Caleb Muftwang, and HE Peter Mba, who are the governors of Zamfara, Plateau, and Enugu States, respectively.” Additional members include former Abia Governor Chief Okezie Ikpeazu, as well as Senators Seriake Dickson and Ibrahim Dankwambo.

He concluded by reaffirming their commitment to the task ahead: “We hope to do our best in delivering on the assignment given to us.”
