The Party’s Over: Gov. Obaseki Is a Friend, but His Time as Governor Was a Failure – Adams Oshiomhole

In a recent interview with Arise News, former Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, ruled out any chance of reconciling with current Governor Godwin Obaseki, making it clear that their political relationship is over.
Oshiomhole stated, “Politically, there is no more basis; the music is over,” acknowledging Obaseki as a personal friend but criticizing his performance as governor, calling it a failure.
When asked about the possibility of mending fences with Obaseki, especially given Oshiomhole’s past reconciliations with Osagie Ize-Iyamu and Philip Shaibu, he reiterated his firm stance, saying, “Politically, the music is over; there’s no more fire in the kitchen, only ashes. He may be my friend personally, but as a governor, he failed.” Oshiomhole’s remarks highlight the deep political divide between the two, despite their personal connection.
He also addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), dismissing the debate as futile.
Oshiomhole likened it to “arguing over spilled milk,” urging a focus on the accountability of Senator Monday Okpebholo to Edo State voters, regardless of any external opinions.
