NDLEA Urges Nigerian Troops to Avoid Drug Intake and Abuse
National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has sensitized the Nigerian Troops on the negative use of drugs, symptoms of drug abuse.
The one day sensitization was organized by commander of the 35 Artillery Brigade command, Brigadier General Mohammed Aminu for army, youths and women at the Alabama Barracks, Abeokuta, Ogun State, to enlighten them on the effect of use of drug.
The state NDLEA boss, Commander of Narcotics Ibiba Jane Odili in her lecture said addiction to drug could cause brain drain and damage to other organs of the body.
The commander, who was decorated as an ambassador of War Against Drugs Abuse by the Commander National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ogun State Command took the initiative to sensitize troops, barrack youths and women on drugs abuse and other related matters.
The sensitization lecture was delivered by the Commander of Narcotics, Odili.
He enlightened troops and their families on the negative use of drugs, symptoms of drug abuse, drug addiction, effects to the brain and organs of the body, among others.
The commander, represented at the lecture by Colonel Legborsi Nule, emphasised that men who adopted the profession of arms must avoid abusing illicit drugs to have a sound mindset for effective decision making as a professional, especially during military operations.
He further charge barracks youths to shun the habit of indulging in substances that is inimical to their mental and physical wellness
