Governor Yahaya Emphasizes Collaboration for Cybersecurity at National Summit
Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, participated earlier today in the National Cybercrime Summit held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.The summit was organized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in partnership with the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Programme (RoLAC) and the European Union. It aimed to enhance digital skills as a means to combat cybercrime.
With the theme “Alternative to Cybercrime: Optimizing Cyber Skills for National Development,” the event underscored a commitment to building digital resilience and creating a secure online environment for sustainable development in Nigeria.The summit was officially inaugurated by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who also launched a new Rapid Response Centre designed to tackle cybercrime emergencies.
After the event, Governor Inuwa Yahaya spoke to journalists about the critical role of collaboration in addressing the escalating threat of cybercrime. He praised the EFCC for organizing the summit, describing it as a timely and necessary initiative in the fight against the rising challenge of cybercrime.
