Governor Eno Expresses Grief Over Barr. Ben Udowa’s Passing, See It as a Great Loss to Akwa Ibom.
Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden demise of Barr. Ben Udowa, a renowned entrepreneur and Executive Director of Other Investments at the Akwa Ibom State Investment Corporation (AKICORP). Udowa tragically passed away from injuries sustained in an auto accident on Friday night.
During a condolence visit to the family on Sunday evening, Governor Eno, represented by Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, lamented the void left by Udowa’s passing, describing it as a significant loss for both his family and the entire state.
“It is a tragic loss not only to the Udowa family but to the entire State,” the Governor said, expressing regret that his official duties outside the state prevented him from visiting personally.
Prince Uwah conveyed the Governor’s message of support, assuring the bereaved family of the government’s solidarity during this challenging time.
Chief Assam Assam, SAN, a former Nigerian Ambassador to Russia, recounted the Governor’s immediate reaction to the news and the efforts made to secure top-tier medical attention for Udowa. “Despite all attempts to save him, God called him home,” Assam said, offering prayers for comfort to Udowa’s family.
The widow of the deceased, Mrs. Lydia Ben Udowa, was joined by family members and dignitaries, including Mr. Frank Archibong, Dr. Ini Adiakpan, Dr. Nsidibe Akata, and others, in mourning the departed. Pastor Godwin Ukwat, Executive Director of Agric Investment at AKICORP, led prayers for the family, while Mr. Samuel Udo Ikpe, a family representative, expressed gratitude for the Governor’s visit and ongoing support.
Barr. Udowa was celebrated for his legacy of hard work, innovation, and dedication to Akwa Ibom’s development.
