Enoch Adeboye Reveals What Joseph Told His Brothers in Genesis 50:24-26 Before His Death
In a recent video YouTube, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has urged Christians to reflect on life’s ultimate destination—eternity. In a recent sermon, he referenced the story of Joseph in Genesis 50:24-26 to illustrate the certainty of this journey.
He highlighted how, hundreds of years later, Moses fulfilled this wish in Exodus 13:19, carrying Joseph’s bones back to their homeland as the Israelites left Egypt. According to Pastor Adeboye, Joseph’s request was a powerful reminder that no matter one’s earthly achievements, life is a temporary assignment.
Pastor Adeboye encouraged his congregation to live with eternity in mind, emphasizing the importance of preparing for life after death. He urged believers to focus on their relationship with God and prioritize spiritual matters over worldly pursuits.
According to him, “When Joseph was about to die, in Genesis 50:24-26, he told his brothers, “I’m in Egypt, a prime minister, a big man. But God will visit you, and when that time comes, don’t leave my bones here. This is not my home. Take me back to my home. Hundreds of years later, in Exodus 13:19, when the Israelites were leaving Egypt, Moses took Joseph’s bones with him to their homeland. We are all heading somewhere—home. It is a compulsory journey. There is nothing you can do to say, “I won’t go.” You are going.”
