In a statement shared on his official page on Sunday, El-Rufai dismissed the report as false. He urged the public to ignore the rumors and baseless claims regarding his political affiliation.

The former governor also revealed that he has taken legal action against the sources spreading the misinformation.

“Please disregard the patent lies and rumours about my political affiliation. I have referred the lead peddlers of the fake news for further action by my lawyers.”
