Dangote Refinery Lowers Petrol Price to N970 Per Litre as a Gesture of Gratitude to Nigerians
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, by two percent to N970 per litre, The Vanguard reports. This is a reduction from the previous price of N990 per litre.
According to Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, the price reduction is a gesture to appreciate the people of Nigeria for their support in making the refinery a reality.
Chiejina stated that the refinery is committed to producing high-quality, environmentally friendly, and sustainable petroleum products.
Meanwhile, oil marketers under the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) have begun negotiations with the refinery to establish clear terms for lifting petrol. The Chairman of PETROAN, Billy Gillis-Harry, confirmed that the association is seeking a concrete agreement on quantity, price, and logistics.
Major Energy Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN) members have already commenced direct lifting of petrol from the refinery, following federal government approval. This development is expected to enhance the supply of petrol in the country.
