Pere Egbi Criticises Toxic Fan Culture Surrounding Big Brother Naija

Nigerian actor and reality TV star Pere Egbi has voiced his disappointment over the growing hostility among fans of the Big Brother Naija (BBN) reality show.
In a post shared on his official X handle, Pere stated that the ongoing season would likely be the last one he invests significant time and energy into, citing the increasing toxicity within the fan community.
He expressed concern that what was once “spirited banter” among viewers has evolved into a “toxic cesspool,” where supporters of housemates engage in personal attacks.
“You can root for your contestant without dragging mothers, fathers, and entire bloodlines,” he wrote. “Support doesn’t have to come from a place of hatred, and entertainment should never reek of bitterness.”
Pere also urged fans to remember that entertainment should unite and bring joy, not promote hostility or division.
