Nigerian Singer Pheelz Says Music is a Spiritual Journey, Not a Shortcut to Wealth

Nigerian singer and producer Philip Kayode, known as Pheelz, recently shared his views on the true nature of music, challenging the common belief that it’s a quick path to wealth.
In a series of posts on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Pheelz emphasized that music holds a much deeper spiritual significance, rather than being just a money-making venture. The “Finesse” hitmaker expressed that music goes beyond material gain, describing it as a divine force with the power to heal and connect with the human soul.
“Music is not just a grind or a get-rich-quick scheme,” he wrote. “It’s life, it’s feeling, it’s healing—it’s God.”
Pheelz also highlighted the difference between the essence of music and the commercial industry that surrounds it. He noted that while the music business focuses on monetizing creative expression, the true essence of music cannot be commodified, as it taps into something divine.
“The music business is man’s attempt to profit from God’s energy, but music itself is God,” he explained.
