Naira Marley Criticizes Muslims Betting During Ramadan
Controversial Nigerian singer Naira Marley has sparked discussions with his recent message directed at Muslim faithful observing Ramadan.
Taking to social media, the Marlian Music boss called out those who were fasting but still engaging in football betting. In a blunt remark, he advised them to break their fast if they couldn’t refrain from gambling.
“You are fasting and still betting on football? Go and eat, please,” he wrote.
His statement quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from social media users. While some supported his stance, others questioned his credibility on religious matters.
A user, @sabiigirlfashion, commented, “I’ve never agreed with him until today.”
Another, @official_saddy, said, “He is right.”
However, some were skeptical, with @melanin_ruth_ asking, “When did this one turn Imam?” and @emmanuel_onaolamipo stating, “Who is this one again? He is hustling for relevance.”
Naira Marley’s comment has reignited conversations around religious discipline and lifestyle choices during the holy month of Ramadan.
