Kano Government Suspends Kannywood Actress for Alleged Indecent Dressing
The Kano State Censorship Board has suspended popular Kannywood actress, Samha M. Inuwa, and revoked her operating licenses for allegedly violating its regulations on dressing and content.
According to a statement signed by the board’s Information Officer, Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, the actress was sanctioned for her persistent “crude dressing and vulgar displays” despite previous warnings.
The suspension, effective immediately, prohibits Samha from appearing in any films for the next 12 months. Additionally, the board has ceased censoring films featuring the actress.
The decision followed numerous complaints from the public and reflects the board’s renewed commitment, under Abba Al-Mustapha’s leadership, to restore discipline and uphold cultural standards within the Hausa film industry.
