Funke Akindele, Wunmi Toriola Lead Nollywood’s 2024 Box Office Rankings

Nollywood icons Funke Akindele and Wunmi Toriola have been named the highest-grossing lead actresses of 2024 by FilmOne, a top movie distribution company.

The announcement, made on FilmOne’s official Instagram page, highlighted Akindele’s top spot thanks to the massive success of her blockbuster Everybody Loves Jenifa. Toriola followed closely in second place for her standout role in Queen Lateefah.

Toyin Abraham secured third place with her hit Alakada: Bad and Boujee, while Tomike Adeoye claimed fourth with Ajosepo. Eniola Ajao rounded out the top five with her performance in Beast of Two Worlds: Ajakaju.

Other actresses recognized for their exceptional performances include:

• Kehinde Bankole (Funmilayo Ransome Kuti) – 6th place
• Adunni Ade (Lakatabu) – 7th place
• Uche Nwaefuna, whose trio of films (Thinline, Silent Intruder, and The Betrayed) earned her 8th position
• Regina Daniels – 9th place
• Gbugbemi Ejeye (Farmer’s Bride) – 10th place
