Wurld
Sadiq Onifade, known professionally as WurlD, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer. He was born on January 2, 1987, in Lagos State, Nigeria.
Wurld spent part of his early life in Nigeria before relocating to the United States, where he developed his musical career and refined his distinctive sound. Blending Afrobeats, R&B, soul, and alternative influences, he emerged as one of the most unique voices in contemporary African music.
Before gaining prominence as a solo artist, Wurld built a reputation as a songwriter, contributing to projects for various international artists. His breakthrough in the Nigerian music scene came with songs such as Show You Off, Trobul, and Paranoid. He later gained widespread acclaim through his collaborative project Afrosoul with renowned producer Sarz, which featured standout tracks like Ego and Mad.
In 2022, Wurld released his debut studio album, My WorlD With U, further showcasing his ability to blend emotional storytelling with contemporary African sounds. Known for his smooth vocals, genre-bending style, and artistic creativity, Wurld remains one of the most respected alternative voices in Afrobeats.
