Sulaimon Shekoni Solomon, known professionally as Khaid, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and rapper. He was born on December 10, 2004, in Shibiri, Ojo, Lagos State, Nigeria.
Khaid rose to prominence in 2022 after signing with Neville Records, a label founded by Nigerian media personality Sydney Talker. Prior to his breakthrough, he worked as a roadside mechanic in Ojo, Lagos, while pursuing his passion for music and supporting his family.
His career gained momentum after a freestyle video he shared on Instagram went viral and caught the attention of Sydney Talker. This led to his signing as the first artist under Neville Records in January 2022. Shortly afterward, he released his debut single, With You, which earned him his first entry on the Nigeria TurnTable Top 50 chart and introduced him to a wider audience.
Khaid continued his rise with the release of songs such as SKI, Amala featuring Zlatan, and Jolie, which became one of his biggest hits and peaked within the top ten of the Nigeria TurnTable Top 100 chart. In 2022, he released his debut EP, Diversity, showcasing his versatility across Afrobeats, hip-hop, and melodic Afro-fusion sounds.
Recognized for his youthful energy, catchy melodies, and relatable storytelling, Khaid has emerged as one of the leading voices among Nigeria’s new generation of artists.
