Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed aka Bella Shmurda
Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, professionally known as Bella Shmurda, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter born on January 27, 1996, in Okokomaiko, Lagos State, Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and International Relations from Lagos State University (LASU).
Bella Shmurda rose to prominence in 2019 with his breakout single Vision 2020, which gained wider attention after a remix featuring Olamide. Known for his introspective lyrics, Afro-fusion sound, and street-inspired themes, Bella became a voice of the new generation of conscious and street-pop artists.
He is best known for hit singles such as Cash App featuring Zlatan Ibile and Lincoln, Rush, World, and Philo featuring Omah Lay. Bella Shmurda is also a key member of the Dangbana Republik collective, a movement promoting youth empowerment and music activism.
His debut EP, High Tension (2020), and its follow-up High Tension 2.0 (2021), earned him both commercial success and critical acclaim, solidifying his place in the Nigerian music industry.
