Adekunle Kosoko aka Adekunle Gold
Adekunle Kosoko, professionally known as Adekunle Gold or AG Baby, is a Nigerian Afropop singer, songwriter, and graphic designer born on January 28, 1987, in Lagos State, Nigeria. He hails from a royal family in Lagos and holds a degree in Arts and Industrial Design from Lagos State Polytechnic.
Adekunle Gold gained recognition with his 2015 hit single Sade, a highlife-inspired cover of One Direction’s “Story of My Life.” Shortly after, he signed with YBNL Nation and released his debut album Gold, which showcased his unique blend of traditional highlife, soul, and Afropop.
Over the years, Adekunle Gold has evolved his sound, adopting a more contemporary and global style with projects like Afro Pop Vol. 1 and Catch Me If You Can. Known for his distinct voice, polished visuals, and fashion-forward persona, he has become one of Nigeria’s most consistent and innovative artists.
He is married to fellow Nigerian singer Simi, and together they have a daughter.
