NYSC Members Set to Receive N77,000 as New Minimum Wage
Members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have been assured that they will soon begin receiving the newly approved national minimum wage of N77,000.
The announcement was made by Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, the director-general of NYSC, during the commissioning of a staff bus donated by Capital Express Insurance Company on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
General Ahmed confirmed that arrangements are underway to finalize the payment of the updated allowances to corps members promptly. He also reiterated the NYSC’s commitment to prioritizing the security and welfare of members, ensuring their entitlements are fully paid.
Commenting on the donation of the bus by Capital Express Insurance Company, Ahmed stated that the initiative aims to ease transportation for staff.
Matthew Ogwezhi, the CEO of Capital Express Insurance Company, highlighted the long-standing partnership between his company and the NYSC. He noted that the bus donation was intended to support staff, especially in light of rising fuel costs, which have posed challenges for many Nigerians.
