Depends On Number Of People That Die In A Day – Graveyard Keeper

Many hours ago, the BBC News Pidgin granted two Tudun Wada graveyard keepers an interview in Kaduna state where they narrated their experiences at the graveyard.
One of the graveyard keepers named Magaji Adamu said, “I dig like twenty (20) graves daily sometimes while it is less other times. It all depends on the number of people that die in a day. I have been working here since 1982.”

The second graveyard keeper named Alhaji AbdulWahid Balogun said, “I have been working here for the past 20 years. Since I have been here, I realized that the saying that ghosts walk about at midnight in the graveyard is not true. I eat and sleep here without being paid for what we do.”
Speaking further, the graveyard keeper said, “the day I will never forget since I have been keeping graveyard was the day eighteen passengers died in an accident. I was the one who washed and shrouded them.”

Lastly, the graveyard keeper said, “with this kind of work, I am more concerned about my afterlife. Whenever I bury people, I always think it will eventually be done for me too when I die and this makes me fear God more.”
