Diddy Urges Court to Release “Freak-Off” Tapes Publicly
Sean “Diddy” Combs has requested that Judge Arun Subramanian allow the public release of nine videos, referred to as “freak-offs,” to prove his innocence. Combs’ legal team argues that the videos, which were recorded with his former partner Cassie Ventura, show private sexual activity with Ventura’s enthusiastic consent.
Prosecutors had initially refused to release the videos, citing privacy concerns from Ventura’s attorney, but Combs’ lawyers insist they are crucial to his defense.
The defense team claims that the videos contradict allegations that Combs kept them as “collateral” and assert that Ventura kept the footage on her own device. Combs’ lawyers argue that the videos, which feature poor audio and lighting, should be released to prepare trial materials. They also criticize the prosecution’s case, claiming it perpetuates sexist stereotypes about women’s agency.
Combs, currently incarcerated in Brooklyn, faces multiple civil suits and criminal charges, including allegations of coercion, blackmail, and rape. He pleads not guilty to all charges and faces a trial scheduled for May 5.
