David Adedeji Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer born on November 21, 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. He studied Business Administration at Oakwood University before fully venturing into music.
Davido made his breakthrough in 2011 with the hit single Dami Duro, which led to the release of his debut album Omo Baba Olowo. Known for his infectious hooks and vibrant Afrobeats sound, he has released multiple chart-topping songs including If, Fall, FIA, Assurance, and Unavailable.
He is the founder of DMW (Davido Music Worldwide), a label that has nurtured top artists like Mayorkun, Dremo, and Peruzzi.
Davido has won numerous awards and is one of Africa’s most streamed artists globally. His international collaborations with Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Latto, and Popcaan have expanded the reach of Afrobeats to a global audience.
