Turkish Super Lig: Osimhen Strikes Again to Extend Lead in Golden Boot Race
Galatasaray continued their dominant run in the Turkish Super Lig with a convincing 5-1 victory over Eyupspor on Sunday evening. The win keeps them firmly at the top of the table with 80 points, maintaining a five-point gap over second-placed Fenerbahçe, with just five games remaining in the season.
According to media reports, Galatasaray found the back of the net through Roland Sallai, Lucas Torreira, Victor Osimhen, and substitute striker Álvaro Morata, who scored twice. The goals came in the 29th, 56th, 79th, 87th, and 90th minutes, making it a comfortable outing for the visitors. Notably, Roland Sallai’s opening goal was set up by Nigerian star, Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen later added his name to the scoresheet, strengthening his position at the top of the Super Lig scoring charts with 22 goals. Close behind him is Polish international and Istanbul Başakşehir striker Krzysztof Piątek, who has 20 goals, while Trabzonspor’s Congolese forward Simon Banza follows with 19.
The race for the league’s Golden Boot remains tight as the season nears its climax. Fans are hopeful that Osimhen will maintain his lead and finish as the top scorer.
