Chelsea, Man. United in stalemate at Stamford Bridge
Sancho scored for Manchester United
Chelsea held Manchester United to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge Stadium on Sunday to remain on top of the English Premier League.
United were coming into the game on the back of a 4-1 demolition by Watford last weekend which led to the sack of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The game at Chelsea was therefore seen as a grudge game which United must not lose in order to stay relevant.
Football superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo was condemned to the bench while Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford started the match.
The United’s defence that had been churning in lots of goals was solidified.
After a goalless first half, the match came to life on 50 minutes as the visitors found the back of the net.
A terrible mistake led to the goal. The defender ended up losing possession, allowing Jadon Sancho to pick up the ball before slotting it into the back of the net.
Chelsea got a lifeline on 69th minutes after being awarded a penalty.
Jorginho stepped up for the kick and drove it low into the left of the net, giving goalkeeper David de Gea no chance to make it 1-1.
