Champions League: Full List of 15 Teams Advancing to Round of 16 and Knockouts

A total of 15 teams have secured their spots in the Round of 16 and knockout stages of this season’s Champions League.

With the new 36-team format nearing its conclusion, two out of the eight clubs that will automatically advance to the Round of 16 have already been confirmed.

In February, 16 teams will compete in the knockout play-off round, with clubs ranked 9th to 24th placed in this phase. Meanwhile, teams ranked 25th to 36th have been eliminated from the competition.

So far, three clubs have been eliminated, with nine more set to drop out next week. This year, unlike previous editions, no teams will drop into the Europa League.

Teams guaranteed a place in the Round of 16:

• Liverpool (guaranteed top seeding spot)
• Barcelona (secured a top-eight finish after a dramatic 5-4 comeback win against Benfica)

• Arsenal
• Bayer Leverkusen
• Internazionale
• Aston Villa
• Brest
• AS Monaco
• Lille
• AC Milan
