BREAKING: Minister Matawalle Announces Deployment of 1,000 Naval Officers to Maradun, Zamfara

The Minister of State for Defense, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has announced the deployment of 1,000 naval officers to Maradun, Zamfara, as part of efforts to combat banditry in the region.
During a six-day visit to Zamfara, Matawalle addressed residents in his hometown, confirming that a formal request had been sent to the state government to facilitate the deployment.
“We have deployed 1,000 naval officers to strengthen the fight against banditry in Zamfara,” he stated.
He revealed that the federal government has requested the state government to accommodate the officers within RUGA settlements.
Additionally, the minister directed the military base in Maradun to ensure the reopening of critical roads, including the Maradun-Magami-Faru and Gora-Jambako-Kaya routes, which have been affected by insecurity.
“I have instructed the military base in Maradun to intensify efforts to eliminate bandits in the area without delay,” Matawalle affirmed.
