EFCC issues warning on unauthorized use of its identity in online content

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has issued a warning to content creators and members of the public regarding the unauthorized use of its identity in digital content.

The agency stated that it has observed an increase in the use of its name, logo, uniforms, and general likeness in comedy skits and other online productions without prior approval. According to the EFCC, such portrayals may misrepresent its operations and create inaccurate public perceptions.

In a video shared on the social media platform X, the Commission emphasized that it has not granted permission for its identity to be used in such content. It further clarified that it does not endorse or approve any comedy, drama, or digital production featuring its name or image without written authorization.

The EFCC advised individuals and content creators to seek official permission before incorporating its identity into any form of media. It also warned that failure to comply with this directive may result in legal action.
