Tinubu Praises Finland for Ekpa’s Arrest, Emphasizes Nigeria’s Unity and Stability

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed gratitude to the Finnish government for its swift action in arresting Simon Ekpa, whose divisive activities were seen as a threat to Nigeria’s unity.
Speaking during a presentation of Letters of Credence by Finland’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Ms. Sanna Selin, Tinubu emphasized that the federal government will not tolerate any actions aimed at disrupting the country’s peace.
He declared, “Nigeria is indivisible, and we cannot promote terrorism,” reiterating the country’s commitment to stability, cooperation, and development. The Finnish ambassador acknowledged the positive state of bilateral relations despite Ekpa’s actions and praised Nigeria’s ongoing reforms.
Tinubu also received Letters of Credence from the EU Ambassador, Mr. Gautier Mignot, and Algeria’s Ambassador, Hocine Mezoued. Discussions included boosting trade relations and supporting regional initiatives like the trans-Saharan African Gas Pipeline.
Concluding his remarks, President Tinubu underscored the importance of African unity, stating, “We must lift Africa together,” and highlighting Nigeria’s potential for economic growth and regional leadership.
