Shettima: Nigeria Suffered Losses Exceeding N300 Billion Due to #EndBadGovernance Protests

Vice President Kashim Shettima recently stated that the #EndBadGovernance protests in August led to losses exceeding N300 billion across the country. He made this remark at the Presidential Villa in Abuja while receiving the minors who participated in the protests after their release, following President Bola Tinubu’s directive.

Shettima highlighted that the protests caused significant damage to both private property and businesses.He further advised the young people involved in the protests not to allow themselves to be manipulated into engaging in violence or damaging property. Shettima emphasized that the economic impact of the protests was severe, with the majority of the losses affecting private businesses and properties.

Although he provided the loss figure, the Vice President did not elaborate on how this amount was calculated or the basis for it.Shettima also appealed to governors and public officials to help rehabilitate the minors involved in the protests, encouraging them to play an active role in reintegrating these individuals back into society.

He urged elected leaders across political lines to unite in ensuring that these young people are supported and rehabilitated, emphasizing that the well-being of citizens should always come before political differences.
